You guys must have read the review of the application TrueCaller and how it is very useful.
To explain it simply I would say this is an application which gives you vital information of the unknown numbers to whom you are calling or receiving calls. When I say vital information It contains Name assigned to the number, Sometimes email address, location, Phone and mailing address as well.
Ever gave a thought how it works? Here is my understanding and logic behind the functioning of Truecaller:
Whenever you install Truecaller on your phone you give access to complete contacts details on your phone.
By syncing contacts on your phone and all those others who have installed this app creates a huge database of numbers, names, emails, locations, Profile pictures etc.
So whenever you get a call from unknown number or you call up a unknown number it takes access to address books of others and gets the information of best matching names and details.
With cutting edge technology we also sync all our private as well as corporate contacts from emails in our smartphones which puts the privacy of the consumer at stake.
Although this application is a great innovation and very useful utility it can cause privacy concerns for many. So use this application after gauging the associated risk.
