I am writing a review after about 3 months. So, please be a little lenient on my shortcomings
****************************************************************
Truth, love and a little Malice is the first book if have read authored by Khushwant Singh and I have come to the conclusion that he is called a malicious man not for nothing.
General Plot
Singhs life, as they call, is an open book for Indians. Hes been in and out of controversies since time immemorial. In the book he tells us not only about controversies but also about his personal equations with his family members, with well known figures and with India.
Anyone who likes gossip ought to love this book. It tells about important issues related to India such as the s** life of Nehru, snobbishness of top brass govt. officials such as Krishna Menon and above all, the facts about Nehru-Gandhi parivar.
History unfolded
The book gives the perspective of an ordinary human being on matters such as the Indian Independence, Emergency et al. It goes on to reveal much of the unknown facets of India and the Indian Government. if you are a history students, it is imperative that you read this book.
Singh also gives a real alternative to religion. I wont tell much about it except that it sounds fairly logical.
In Short
this book is a must read for every Indian not because of any sort of patriotism but because it tells you a lot about India and the world. The literary side of the book is better to be unspoken of. But, Im sure that anybody who reads the book will have a strong and lasting impression about the book on him.
Postscript
Maneka Gandhi took Singh to court as she allegedly was of the opinion that the facts about her and Indira Gandhi were an intrusion in her privacy. So, have a good read.
