The only thing which was convincing for me about watching this movie is, the legendary actor Om Puris last bollywood movie. Puri was one of the very finest actors of our country ever produced and Kabir Khans "Tubelight" marks his last filmed performance. Other than this there is no reason to go and watch the movie "Tubelight" .
Although the story of the movie was convincing but the lead actor Salman Khans performance has made it dull and unwatchable. Salman Khans character in the movie is "Laxman" who is a special child by birth and his special scenes includes moving mountains by making constipated noises. These scenes were actually supposed to be the emotional scenes but it didnt worked out it"s purpose. Compared to Kabir Khan"s last film with Salman Khan "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" where his character was completely convincing to me, in "Tubelight" Salman Khans idea of playing a child man who is crying all the time, making weird faces on camera and trying to move mountains making constipated noises and facial expressions makes it completely pointless and it didnt convinced me at all . Although Salman Khans utmost effort to buildup the character is quiet evident in the movie but still there is something lacking which makes it irritating and doesnt matches with his character and the movie.
The much awaited Shahrukh Khans cameo is one of the pointless scenes in the movie with no chemistry between the two Khans.
The first half of the movie is unnecessarily stretched out which includes nothing but character introductions. There isnt much in the second half either, which pulls the movie down and makes it completely flat.
With a bit of a surprise, Sohail Khans performance in the movie convinced me more then Salman Khans performance. Although Sohail Khan has only two expressions in the entire movie but his performance has served its purpose to the character.
