Tubelight: A rotten tomato from Salman's basket

"Yakeen ek tubelight ki tarah hota hai. der se jalta hai. par jab jalta hai toh full light kar deta hai!"

Even we expected the same from the movie Tubelight, but unfortunately the movie didn’t live up to our faith that the plot will take a better turn. To be frank the concept is good but not well-executed.

Tubelight is the remake of Little Boy(2015). It is the story of Laxman(Salman), whose neighbours used to call him tubelight as he was a feeble-minded chap. The movie shows the turbulence between Indo-China, a serious matter indeed, but the war scenes seems not to be much focused on.

I was having high hopes from the music of this movie but Mai Agar was the only track which lived up to my expectations. Even Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Tinka Tinka couldn’t create the magic in the air.

Tubelight is not at all a regular Salman Khan masala movie. Neither he is showing his body in the movie like every other Salman Khan production movie.

The only thing which can be rated high is the cinematography, which mostly is good in every Kabir Khan movie.

Performance-wise Salman lacks somewhere when compared to his recent works like Sultan and Bajrangi. Om puri has done a good work. Sohail was not able to make a mark indeed. Ya, SRK do have a special guest appearance as a magician.

There is one particular thing which I liked about the movie that it came with a message-"Faith can even move mountains". and that’s quite inspiring.

Overall, maybe a one time watch if you are a die-hard Salman fan(even I watched because I am one of them), but don’t expect anything and go.

Gist: Not worth spending 200 bucks.
