Someone to walk with

The book came to me the moment my life was quite idle. My friend Amor whom I shared the passion for books told me about Tuesdays with Morrie. She let me borrowed it since we exchanged books for reading. I am totally amazed and amused of it.I am seeing what I always believed what and who is a teacher all about. The ones who never criticized nor plays to be all knowing but a man who values and respect what his students are going to get from him as a mentor, as a friend and even someone whom you can walk through life.A teacher’s influence indeed affects eternity, no one knows when it stops or ends. Tuesdays with Morrie talks the things which somehow I feared most in life specially now that I am a mother of two kids.Of dying and leaving them behind in a time where they still needed me most I can never handle it.Morrie had opened my eyes that it is really true that I wrestle with life itself since I have to face choices and decisions to make. That forgiving is very important for I might regret it too.Indeed only few people are given second chances to correct what went wrong. That death ends life but not relationships, somehow we need to accept this real thing. We felt pain and even turn our backs to commitments once we get hurt but we never forget the joys this person brought to us, they never left after all. That love always wins, is a great revelation that whatever is good , love always reigns.Looking back of who’s Morrie, I am so pleased of knowing that being a teacher is not merely teaching but indeed passing yourself to the next.Of your values, ideals and aspirations for what is really living and not merely existing.I’ve read the book many times since my friend Amor gave it to me.I even shared this to my co-teachers and students. We all find it worth reading for.Hoping there’ll be more Morrie’s to come specially now that the new generation needs a teacher like him.
