In TUMBBAD, SOHAM SHAH is in the role of an ambitious or a greedy person. TUMBBAD is a VILLAGE in KONKAD AREA of MAHARASHTRA. The people of this village have a belief that their ancestors had hidden a TREASURE. RAHI ANIL BARVE' S film TUMBBAD traces this with the help of its characters in different ages.
' ' ' ' ' I WILL NOT TELL THE STORY' ' ' ' '
The way TUMBBAD stars, it seems like no one knows what will happen next. Year 1918 and India is a slave. It is the period of fables, whose one end passes through an ancient Goddess. The Goddess most affection was on her elder son. But the HASTAR was greedy, he loved his mother' s property GOLD and food. Because of his greed, he had to bear the curse of the other Gods. Now he lives in his mother' s womb. THEN WHERE IS HIS STOLEN GOLD? A BRAHMIN FAMILY IN TUMBBAD HAS BEEN TRYING TO FIND THEM FROM MANY GENERATIONS.
On the other hand there is a scared mother. He has two children, who are trying reason behind the fear. One of these is VINAYAK, who is more clever from his age. He finds out the story of HASTAR. After leaving the village after mother' s oath in childhood, VINAYAK returns to find the gold. His greed increases so much that he is not afraid of death. He feels that he only has one quality- GREED. SARKAR was the owner of this Haweli.
After this, you know where the story will end.
CAST & PERFORMANCE: -
Vinayak is Soham Shah. Everytime I look Soham on the screen , I feel good. His character is not a part of this made up story, but he himself opens the story and sees himself and shows us also. That is why he becomes the main character of movie.
In a scene, Vinayak makes a great laugh, and I was sitting in the corner of the chair. Soham is also producer.
ANITA plays the role of Vinayak' s wife. Her character tells a lot about the treatment of women in that era. After Soham, MOHAMMAD SAMAAD gets more screen, who plays the role of Vinayak' s Son. Moh. Samaad has been seen in the movie ' Haramkhor'
HOW SCARY THE FILM IS?
Bringing the ghost in front of Camera has now become the old fashioned, the film proves it. I do not remember that HASTAR has seen in the camera in any scene of this film. You scare of the atmosphere of this film, Vinayak scares us, his greed scares us , the feel of happening something scares us.
TECHNICAL TALK : -
Several parts of the film were scrapped once again after shooting and re-shot. The length of the complex story of TUMBBAD runs, that is the good thing. The film is one hour and forty-three
minutes long but its effect remains for a long time.
IN MY OPINION: -
IT WOULD NOT BE WRONG TO SAY THAT ' TUMBBAD' ALSO MAKES A SEPARATE LEAK IN THIS CROWD AND RUNS ON IT WITHOUT ANY DISTRACTION. THE AMOUNT OF ETHICS IS A LITTLE OVER BUT IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO GET HEAVIER ON THE FILM.
ACCORDING TO YOUR POCKET, LOOK AT THE DECISION TO SEE IT, BUT THIS WILL BE A BETTER OPTION TO SEE.
