Scooty Pep Plus comes with 90 CC and 4 stroke engine and as per company rating it will give mileage approx 50-55 kms in normal driving, based on this I am writing some reviews.
Seriously I was searching for the reviews for Scooty Pep + , 1.5 years back but did not got any good reviews and we planned for a vehicle in Dec 2006 for my father.
My father is 63 years and not able to drive Active due to weight and I was planning for herohonda pleasure . mean while one his friend purchased pep + and we gone through the vehicle. We booked the vehicle and after some 10 days got the vehicle in our house . As my parents are not staying with me I did not got any chance to drive the vehicle . Dec-2006 we got the vehicle I had been to my native place on April-07 so just after some 4 months. I always asked my father about the vehicle and condition . He used to drive previously scooter and stopped driving some 2 yrs.
When I looked the vehicle it was great look and weight also balanced for old aged and ladies. my father started talking all the pros and cons about the vehicle . the vehicle was good and new and not much trouble for him , he is quite satisfied after the heavy scooter and gear and leg brake.
I reached home almost late night so start the vehicle next day morning , I can not say that I am a good identifier but have 7+ years experience in Yamaha Rx135 and owned a Maruti 800 . easily I came to know some points.
*Cons:
- Vehicle cost us 37000.00 on road plus 1500 new accessories , which is too much for this.
2.I agree vehicle is fancy but all the body is plastic and very light , little problem means you have to replace a new one , some money will go out from pocket.
I raised the accelerator and has some pulling problem , which my father did not noticed.
Shock absorber is ok and seems to little unstable .. should be careful in driving.
Finally I decided to go for a good servicing and ran to the company service center.
Service center guy checked the vehicle and he has done in the same day by evening bcz it was a working day not much rush. I have gone for a small test drive and some cons changed to pros :---
Vehicle turned to smooth with less sound and pick up bit increased.
before I faced like when I crossed 45 , there was a small pulling up down , seems this was rectified.
High beam headlight focused .and vehicle made smooth.
This all seems my father did not service the vehicle properly , when I called my fathers mobile and asked him where he has done the service he said has done the first free service and changed the oil with a local service guy. okk.. that finished my experiments. and I can right some more points
Vehicle seems only for light drive and short travel
Good for old aged like my father , I used the vehicle all the days when I was in my Native place seems ok .
Pulling power is not satisfactory .. can be improved.
I did not find the morning starting problem , first kick I used to do in owning some 2-3 kick it will get start and rest of the day button start.
Definitely this cost is more comparative to market.
Since almost 2 years , my father using the vehicle and now going to the service center for servicing and seems no problem. My father using this for going to bank and for shopping with my mother , they are happy with this , also the beauty part is it has a bright head light and under seat storage which they did not find in old scooter.
Purchase vehicle depends on your need and use . For my fathers it is helpful , agree some amount of more money spent , I am ok where there is a happiness.
