Once upon a time commuting to the office or the joy of those occasional shopping sprees happened to be nightmares. The introduction of these scooterettes has been a delight for the wo-man folk as these were just meant for them. Now no more nightmares….all the destinations were just a kick away…for me atleast….who preferred to work instead sitting at home ( This was just the opposite earlier when I used to envy all the housewives of this world…..when they used to sit at home and see me struggling to go to office….almost everyday…)
My Confrontation with my Scooterette :
Premarriage times, Our mighty Indian railways helped me commuting to and fro to office. So then I just never had felt the importance of a two wheeler. Post marriage, convenience came in the form of office quite nearer to home. Hubby dear could not see my struggle and started sympathizing instead of buying me the vehicle. So my requests took the form of demands and then finally we both decided on TVS scooty, the self start version. My efforts did not go in vain.
We landed up at the showroom the next day. After chewing the brains for about 2 hours of the sales representative ( I m sure he would be cursing that day….still). Very courteously he took me to the place where these scooterettes were displayed, They had the white scooty, the red scooty and the navy blue scooty, I kept on staring at all the three….( It was like a girl with the garland in her hands and is in a dilemma to choose her husband…..). My hubby behind me yelling yet being polite “ arre, koi bhi rakh lo, colour mein kya rakha hain”. Finally I decided to go for the navy blue colour of this machine.
Now was the time to loosen our wallets….rather mine… I felt very sad to part with my hard earned money but at the time prayed that this decision of mine should pay off. Finally the long time desire of owning a vehicle of my own was fulfilled and the TVS scooty was home.
Life had not been easy till now. The comfortness and the sleekness of the vehicle made me its fan for life. I could afford to sideline all the drawbacks of this machine as it just was the scooterette of my expectations. Going and coming to the office on this lap of luxury was so fun and comfortable and above all was the feeling of the owning this vehicle with my money which makes it all the more special.
My Husband’s Envy and My Pride :
I remember initially I had to wait for my hubby to go to the market or a function and say any place…which means a tedious task of waiting for half an hour for my hubby’s 5 minutes. And that means getting late all the time and being the target of all those staring eyes of the function. One more instant is hubby getting irritated and informing to take rickshaw and go to the market. But now the circumstances have changed drastically, Hubby dear waiting for a chance to take me out, and that feeling is worth enjoying.
Scooterette of all seasons :
Me and my scooty are now together for 5 years. Neither of them have ditched each other. This piece of machine has taken me to several places irrespective of any season. Be it the scorching heat of the summer, the chilling cold of winter or the heavy downpour of the monsoon, it has carried me and also has helped me to help others in trouble during such heavy rainfall. For me, My scooty is a scooterette of all seasons.
My words :
This 65 cc machine with a 3.5 litre petrol tank gives me an average of 35-40 km. The light weight of this vehicle is an added asset for me as it can be dragged easily if at all any of the tyres get punctured in the middle of the road to the nearest garage or else hubby dear is always a phone call away. According to me, the returns of my hard earned money has paid off and still a long time to enjoy.. I am in no mood to change my scooty for a kinetic Honda or a Bajaj spirit or any other vehicle for that sake as it has been with me through thick and thin.
