Newer Better Avtaar of Ind-Suzuki

When I bought this bike just a couple of days back, the test ride gave me a sweet recollection of early’80s’. Then Ind Suzuki was just launched as a pioneer of 100cc bike revelution in India. Its immaculate styling and looks was then were talk of the young generations then.

Just before it, I road-tested another sibbling from TVS - star city 110 with a better 8.2 bhp( star city sport got 7.4 bhp). But I found it too bulky and slower throttle response(of course the new bike needs tuning at the workshop).

On the other hand TVS - Star Sports got a nifty response on the accelartor. It got perhaps lowest turning radius among the Indian bikes - which is very useful in overtaking rickshaws at small towns like Purulia.

The headlamp of the TVS - star city is "awesome". My other bike Hero Honda "Passion"s light is simply no match for it. The handling of TVS - star city is superb if u limit your speed to 50 kmph. Mileage is also decent - it should go average 60 kmpl in congested Indian towns.

Built on the same platform of Ind-suzuki with better electricals, contemporay graphics, excellent mileage, sleek body, TVS - star city is the best deal(better than Hero Honda & Bajaj) for average city commuters @ under 40k(in West Bengal). Of course at this price, self start is a luxury.

Lastly, since it is a TVS, it got a lower risk of theft than all Hondas’. An added advantage for a middle class owner(who switches over to third party insurance just after the first year so same 500 bucks and suffers most in case of bike-theft)

Ind Suzuki re-lives again. Hail TVS - star city
