Buy a star city

I wanted to buy a commuter so I had hero passion, honda dream and star city on mind. my friends told me to go with passion coz of the resale value and mileage but I had read some reviews on this website I thought this is a very gud bike coz soo many good reviews were there so only bought this bike in november 2013 for 55000rs. the sales person told me its mileage will be around 72 kmpl I was very happy coz I got the delivery within one hour. I rode it from the showroom I was feeling it was pulling, I thought it was a new bike so it will happen. the engine sound was new to me, I liked it as I was riding a herohonda cd dawn previously. I reached home happily I showed my bike to my mom she pointed out the smoke coming from the engine.

I am about 80 kgs so this bike cannot pull me even in second gear in hilly areas always had to go in first gear. if there is an uneven road i.e, with pot holes or stones I would loose my balance coz of poor suspension and the front wheel gets lifted every time. it is very difficult to go on doubles with my mom or dad. the engine exactly at 55 kmph starts vibrating and makes excess noise indicating not to go beyond this speed. but its good between 20 kmph and 50 kmph. above 55 the engine definitely vibrates. its top speed is about 95. its due to its low weight which is 110 kgs. the worstest thing I felt in this bike is its mileage it gives me only 42 kmpl(which is worst for a 110 cc bike.:(

Report after 15000kms:

My star city after driving for almost 1 year and 4 months, I only got my brake cable changed and did service on time. After sales service from vs agency, Hosur is good. They enquire about the performance after two days. Now I get a mileage above 60, at most I have got 72kmpl it purely depends on riding. Stock tyres are very bad as it skids a lot. No issues with the engine, it’s pretty decent for 110cc, still behind Suzuki from which it split years back.

I still like this bike as it is easy to ride in city.
