Well, to start with, I would like to inform that I myself bought this bike with the help of reviews posted on this site. And I must say that most of the reviews were correct and useful. The bike has almost met my expectations till date. Although I have not got the average that most users got, I still think that I will get it as months roll. I bought this bike( Silver F2) in Jan, 2004. I must say TVS has worked on the styling of this bike.
However, F2 lacks the colors that most other bikes of its class offer. Silver is the most acceptable color in F2, the black has a white sticker....pretty odd. The driving experience is amazing. I had taken test drives of various other bikes of this segment like Pulsor 150 and this was the most comfortable one. This bike balances the biker and is also good for new bikers. The halogen head light is the best part, which the old Pulsor lacked. Likes about this machine: Driving and handling is SUPERB. This bike has the same genuine Suzuki engine.
I am not a expert biker, but I must say that my bike delivers more than what I expect every time I go for a ride. I had also heard of COLD START problems. Well, I have started this bike in heavy rains and after 5-7 days and never had any starting issues. Just one kick and wrooom. The gear shift is so smooth that most of the time you dont know if the gear shifted ;-) Acceleration is good and you can overtake other bikes in a jeffy. Side stand indicator is very good, as I am really forgetful in outting the side stand up. I have also seen many accidents due to side stands, so even if it is annoying, I dont recommend you to remoe the side stand alarm. Is very comfortable for LONG drives.
Dislikes about this machine: It needs a 5th gear and auto start. TVS guys....grow up. I must admit that the tyres are slippery. But you can change the rear tyre to a Dunlop. Shock absorbers are somewhat hard. You feel the punch when riding alone. Mileage is low, but this may be just with my bike. So if you are a hard biker or a new kid in biking, this bike is the best choice. Well, I don’t think there is enough competition. The new Yamaha with the insect look...YUCK.
