I bought this vehicle because of its brilliant and tractable engine. Though the lack of 5th gear does hampers the bike’s top speed performance. I have fitted an K&N air filter to my bike.The performance(acceleration) and mileage have improved marginally. I have replaced the rear suspension with that of the bullets gas filled shock absorbers. The handling has improved dramatically especially at high speeds.
I have also replaced the rear tyre with an wider 100/90 MRF tyre and the front one with MRF Zapper FS and this has also contributed to improved handling under heavy braking. Now the rear doesnt loses grip as it used to with a thinner and not so good tvs tyres.
I want to fit rear single disk brake, and a second disk brake in the front if any one has done that or can do that modification pls contact me....pummystar@yahoo.com.I also want alloy wheels for my bike....but they should of a standard company.If any one has done any kind of modification to his bike pls do let me know.....
.....Its been a year n four months but its still going great...i would like to know u the minor errants I faced during this period...
Within first mont: the seat of my bike was torn due to faulty placement of the stappling pins.NOT replaced under warranty.Second month:THe bike refused to start.Problem traced to Faulty engine kill switch. Replaced under warranty after nine monts of constant complains nd after my final complaint to the Regional TVS Head office. These two problems were seen in much of the early production bikes.
Third month(after completion of initial 40 km/hr running):THe bike used to sputter in the 40-50km/hr range(nd would produce a gun cocking sound from the exhaust especially during sudden deacceleration). Made repeated visits to the service station.After much complain even the main service engineer wasnt able to rectify the problem. At present its not much of a trouble. Sixth month:fitted my bike with an air filter nd upgraded the tyre sizes..and latter in an year the gas shocks.
During this whole period the body pannels would rattle.TVS personnel couldnt rectify the noises. I myself employed rubber washers in between the body pannel screw’s.At present:Dummy air scoops dont vibrate. Rear tail lamp unit rattles on bad road surfaces. In Front head light fairing yet to employ the rubber washers..this is One thing that rattles a lot at a particular speed.
I have been servicing my bike from the authorised service station..engine oil changed at regular intervals.Front nd rear disk brake pads n drum brake pads replaced at 10000 kms.One common problem the chain loosens after high speed driving..ther was much play seen in the handle at 7000kms. handle play has been rectified though it has started creepeing in again at 14000 kms.
