I have a TVS Victor GL for over 2 years now. It has serves me very well for this time.
The plus points are:
Decent mileage. Giving me about 55kpl. Nowhere near the advertised mileage! But not that bad considering that I’m usually racing the engine!
Low maintenance. This was one of the main points I was looking at when buying a bike, and the Victor has fulfilled this perfectly. I have had no problems for the past two years. I just had to give it for the usual maintenance checks, and that was it.
Good seating. Everyone is quite pleased by the seating, as it is very comfortable even after long drives.
Rugged. Takes rough roads with ease.
Performance. Don’t even try to race against a Pulsor! But it has quick pickup, and a zip that makes city traffic handling easy. Max I’ve gone on the bike is just under 90 kph.
Drawbacks:
Rainy problem. I dont care what the Victor ad says! My bike just cannot take the rain. No amount of tinkering helps. I believe there is a starting design defect. If rain/water hits the engine near the spark plug, the engine dies. No amount of coaxing helps, until I clean the spark plug and put a dry paper between the spark plug and the engine! Believe me, after getting stuck in the pouring rain a couple of times, one gets lots of time to create new words to say to the company, while pushing the bike in the rain! And the rear foot pedal is designed such that it’s purpose is to constant hit the person in the leg as he is pushing the bike!
Wet road. Avoid it like the plague. I know the tires matter, but even with new tyres, the Victor does not take wet roads well. The handling on wet roads does not inspire any confidence.
On the whole, it is good bike. It may not be the best in its class, but it is very reliable, , , , when dry!
