TVS Victor GL Review
--------------------
If you shift from Hero Honda Splendor to TVS Victor youll notice some advantages and disadvantages both. Since Splendor had been a leader in its style and captured a very big market, the other
companies who wanted to snatch the market gave special attention for the CONS in Splendor. The result were two motorcycles who were able to slightly affect the Splendor market, viz., TVS Victor
and LML Freedom. But this review is about TVS Victor, so lets go through the PROS and CONS of it:
PROS
----
(1) Wide seats give more comfort and is designed to give less stress
on long drives.
(2) Wide tyres, manufactured by TVS, give more control and less jerks.
(3) Comparatively strong build.
(4) Good height.
(5) Multi-reflector lights and indicators.
(6) Rectangular Swing Arm gives more control and suppresses vibration
on road corners. Though most of the new bikes now have the same.
(7) Digital Ignition does improve performance. You will get 70-72+
on good highways whereas in cities I noticed 67+. Though most of the
bikes claim 80-86 Kmpl, I noticed that you will get 70-75 in good
conditions.
(8) It was a pleasure to see polite, smart and attentive staff at the
two service stations where I got my Victor serviced. However, this may
differ from city to city. I purchased my Victor from Abhishek-TVS
Chhindwara (MP) and got it serviced there and later at
National-TVS Jabalpur (MP).
At both the places the staff is polite and attentive. They carefully
hear what you say. This had been a problem with my Hero Honda Splendor,
which I purchased from Super Agencies Jabalpur.
(9) You will enjoy comfortable and smooth biking even on rough roads.
CONS
----
(1) The wheelbase is less as compared to Splendor. This is depressing.
The wheelbase is of 1200 mm, which is less then that of splendor which
has of 1235 mm.
(2) The rear footrest are not far enough from the kick. So while
kicking you have to fold one of the rear footrest up.
(3) I experienced heat emission from the engine after long trips in
summer, on legs. This may be due to iron part of the engine as compared
to the all aluminium engine in LML freedom.
My Decision
-----------
All in all a good bike enough to bring smile on your face.
