I bought TVS wego on September 2011.Scooter is good and didn’t face much problem in initial days other than head light issue and small problem in power start. These issues were fixed in free service and they charged only for new head light. My friends and others use to say Honda Activa engine is good and even sound is better than wego. But I couldn’t see any difference in sound or performance. My wego gives 35 - 40 KM mileage. The price is also not much difference between honda and tvs when I bought. The pulling capacity is also very good till now. I use to give it for service twice in a year. One of the main reason I bought wego is TVS spare parts are not costly as Honda. Since Honda got a good name they are pricing it high.
The problems which I face in wego is rear tyre and wobbling issue. I don’t do rash driving at the same time not very slow on highway roads. And the road I use to go office are not very bad . But the rear Tyre worn out in 4 years. It came only for 24200 Kms. When I checked in the service station they asked me to change the tyre to get out of wobbling. Even the service station guy or other mechanic shop person is not sure about life time of tyres. They say some tyre may come for 20000 Kms and some 60000 Kms.
When I tried to search for the new tyres in JC road, Bangalore. I got to know that shop owners are giving five years unconditional warranty for TVS tyres. But in one shop, the owner told they are getting complaints on TVS tyres especially wobbling.I decided to buy Ceat or MRF. Ofcourse I don’t know any other brands. Then I bought Ceat Tubeless tyre with four year unconditional warranty. So I would suggest to buy any tyre other than TVS.
The other problem common in scooter is shock absorber. The scooter won’t have good shock obsorber like four stroke bikes so you may feel back pains on long drives.
So based on four years of usage I would recommend for wego but not for TVS tyre.
