- Grounds For Divorce - Elbow
(I had a tough time opening the top 20. Fleet Foxes, Snow Patrol or Elbow. I think Elbows Seldom Seen Kid surely is this years best album. It was a surprise and what a pleasant one. Critics had almost written off Elbow over the past few years. I guess this album is for Elbow what Abbey Road was to The Beatles.)
- Debaser - Pixies
(This is what Nirvana wanted to, but could never, be. Debaser is Pixies at their pinnacle. You just cant reach that high.)
- Happy Hour - The Housemartins
(London 0 - Hull 4. Brilliant!)
Shes So High - Blur
Spanish Harlem - Rebecca Pidgeon
Can You Dig It? - The Mock Turtles
Slight Return - The Bluetones
(I loved this band. One of my fav. 90s bands, along with Blur, Catatonia and Suede.)
- Bring On The Dancing Horses - Echo & The Bunnymen
(The high point of the 80s, I think.)
- Lost! - Coldplay
(I saw them perform this live!)
- Time To Pretend - MGMT
(Redefines an entire new generation of music.)
A Fairy Tale Of New York - The Pogues
A Thousand Trees - Stereophonics
(Yes. I am a Stereophonics song. Yet I tried to not make this list a Stereophonics top 20. So I had to get at least 1 stereophonics song in, didnt I?)
- Flourescent Adolescent - Arctic Monkeys
(Absolutely fab song. From the best album of 2006.)
- One Day Like This - Elbow
("Holy cow I love your eyes". Amazing. This is an anthem!)
- Fools Gold - The Stone Roses
(This ones not on either of their albums. It is on Lock Stock and Two smoking barrels soundtrack and on their b-sides cd. But its fit to have had a place on their brilliant debut album. Permanantly etched on my ipod.)
Eye Of Fatima pt 1 & 2 - Camper Van Beethoven
Sisters Of Mercy - Leonard Cohen
(This song makes more sense as you grow up. And keep on growing up. Its poetry.)
- Mr. Brightside - The Killers
(When was it? 2004? And it still as fresh. When will it wear off? I dunno. Probably never.)
I Am Hated For Loving - Morrissey
Conqueror - Jesu
(Trip on it. They are the Jesus and Mary Chain for todays generation.)
