The songs that made my year this year!

I found it extremely difficult to narrow down the best songs in English to just twenty songs.  I love so many different genres and like different songs for different moods.  Therefore, I am going to go into my favorite songs for this year.

1.Family Affair-Mary J. Blige

Produced by Dr. Dre this was by far one of the tightest songs this year. The song encourages you to dance and have a good time.  No drama, no pain, just taking life as it comes.

2.Hit’Em Up Style- Blu Cantrell

The ultimate revenge song for the woman this year.  Blu has such a jazzy, distinctive voice and I am hoping her next song will be just as big.

3.How Come You Don’t Call Me- Alicia Keys

Remaking Prince and doing him justice, I find this song to be so fun and interesting.  Her hit Fallin’ is great as well but this song is one of my favorites on her album.

  1. When God Fearin’ Women Get The Blues-Martina McBride

Fun and spunky this song is another winner from one of the best country singers in the business

5.What Your Fantasy?-Ludacris

This song kept turning in my head and when it came on the radio I found myself bobbing my head and rapping along.

6.You Remind Me-Usher

This song is engaging to listen to and I think he does a great job of singing it.

  1. Just Another Day In Paradise- Phil Vassar

This song is fun and well written.  Vassar has written some great songs for other people and its nice to see him step into the limelight.

  1. Slave 4 U

Original and kind of funky, this is one song by Britney I actually like when I hear it on the radio.

  1. Survivor- Destiny’s Child

Overplayed? Yes.  Call it my guilty pleasure.

  1. Mad Season-Matchbox 20

Fun and pretty interesting musically.  I am a sucker for Rob Thomas’s voice I guess

  1. We Need A Resolution- Aaliyah

  2. Lady Marmelade- Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink, Lil Kim

  3. Musiq Soulchild-Love

  4. Jill Scott- Gettin’ In the Way

  5. Peaches and Cream- 112

  6. Turn Off The Lights- Nelly Furtado

  7. The Space Between- Dave Matthews Band

  8. You Got It Bad- Usher

  9. Beyond Beautiful- Aerosmith

  10. Dance With Me- Debelah Morgan
