Running through your head

Here are some of my favourite songs

1)All along the watchtower - Jimi Hendrix

The jimi hendrix version of this song was acknowledged  by Bob Dylan to be a better version than the original.Praises dont come any higher than that.

2)Civil war- Guns and roses

More of an anti-government than a song against war.But great nonetheless.

3)Wish U were here -  Pink Floyd

A song  which I relate to a feeling of being hemmed in, a song for longing, for companionship.Another close second is their comfortably numb.

4)High and dry - Radiohead .

Great song. period.

5)L.A woman- The Doors .

This happens to be my fav song by the doors.Reminds me of the time when I started my initiation into rock .The End is another of my fav songs.

6)Not Dark Yet -Bob dylan

A difficult choice since there are such a great variety of dylan songs to choose from. But I like the depressing, slow music from(i think) his only electric album.

7)River deep, Mountain High -

Deep Purple .A hard to find song of DP.But a superb Guitar long piece in between to rival that of Stairway to heaven.

8)Sugar Magnolia- The Grateful Dead,

A romantic number from the dead.It goes like this

She comes skimmin’ through rays of violet, she can wade in a drop of dew,

She don’t come and I don’t follow, waits backstage while I sing to you.

Well, she can dance a cajun rhythm, jump like a willys in four wheel drive.

She’s a summer love for spring, fall and winter. she can make happy any man alive.

Sugar magnolia, ringing that bluebell, caught up in sunlight, come on out singing

I’ll walk you in the sunshine, come on honey, come along with me.

She’s got everything delightful, she’s got everything I need,

A breeze in the pines and the sun and bright moonlight, lazing in the sunshine yes

Indeed.

Not everybodys fav dead song but it sure is mine .

9)Bohemian Rhapsody -Queen.

Freddy at his best

10)Yellow-Coldplay

Nice song, Dont Panic is just as good.Hard to choose a song from this album thats not good.

11)Stairway to Heaven-Led Zepellin-

A standard Guitar fav

12)All Apologies -Nirvana

A great song from the Grungemasters.

13)Die, Die my darling - Metallica .

This cover version(orginally sung by the misfits) n their garage inc album is one of my favs.Rather a strange song for a metallica fan, but guess its one of my idiosyncrasies.

14)No Surprises -Radiohead-

Another  fav is Climbing up the walls.

It’s dark, brooding, lonely depressive all that  I have come to associate with Radiohead

15)I dont want to change the world - Ozzy ozzbourne.

Another pub favourite from the ozzman.

16)I heard it through the Grapevine- CCR.

Cover of the Marvin Gaye version.Great 11 min song with a nice long guitar piece.

17)Me and Bobby Mc Gee- Janis Joplin-

Great bar room voice adds a touch of class to this rock ballad.

18)Roll with it - Oasis.

I think it’s Oasis best work. The lyrics are greatI listen to this when I feel down and it never feels to pick me up.

20)All I really want-Alanis Morissette.

A great album, I havent found a woman who writes songs with better https://lyrics.Gritty powerful voice to follow up the lyrics as well. The album begins with this song

’Do I stress you out

My sweater is on backwards and inside out

And you say how appropriate

I don’t want to dissect everything today

I don’t mean to pick you apart you see

But I can’t help it’

With lyrics like these u cant help but like her.

Happy listening.
