I love the good themes in the films than the songs with https://lyrics.It is difficult to convey the feel in the music without any lyrics and I also consider the scoring background for a movie is more difficult than scoring a song. I expect a lot more from our musicians.why nobody is releasing background score of movies as cassettes/cd’s in indian films. Some of the movie’s background score are really outstanding that I need them to be translated in cassette/cd format.I have given only 10 in this review rest in the next.
BOMBAY-Theme of Struggle and Peace(tamil)
The yet another trend setting movie of tamil cinema by Maniratnam.The music is by A.R.Rahman.He would have completed only five or six films by that time .From any music director it is hard to expect such a music with international standards which sounds for peace.The music well orchestrated using violin and flute.The music reveals the emotions of the people who lost their relatives and neighbours in the fight between hindus and muslims and their longing for peace.Music of lifetime.
JEANS-Love theme(tamil)
The movie is a best commercial movie directed by Shankar and the music is by A.R.Rahman.The title music’Nisaresa’ when the America in the evening under lights is shown from the top angle.We feel as if we are also sitting in the helicopter in which the cameraman sat and shot. It is moving with voices of Anupama for english lyrics and febi for swaram. It is a nice blend of indian classical and western music.
LAGAAN-Title music(Hindi)
Lagaan the greatest indian movie so far which deserves its Oscar nomination in foreign film category.The music is by A.R.Rahman.The title music of the movie which is fusion of flute, percussion beats and violin.The title music conveys the emotions of the film like initially the peaceful life of the farmers in the village and the english people with flute, some seriousness to follow using the percussion beats blended with flute.The music director deserves his national award for the movie.
LAGAAN-once upon a time in India
It is the theme music used all through the movie, the music starts with sweet humming of anuradha sriram and followed by grand orchestration with harmony, violin and percussions. The music is well used when Captain Russell comes to see the farmers practicing cricket during which each one will come and stand in an order looking at the captain Russell, a lot of confidence will be seen in the eyes of the farmers. The camera moves as the eyes of captain and when he sees Elizabeth standing last the music ends with a stroke of drumbeat. Excellent scene in which music speaks volumes of the emotion of the characters.
LAGAAN-the background score in the climax
It is also great background score which blends the music of’Mitwa’ song for the joy of victory, the music of’khale mega’ song for the arrival of rain using harmony, the music of’chori’ for the love between bhuvan and gowri, and music for the disappointment of elizabeth while seeing bhuvan hugging gowri and the anger of captain Russell in the end.What a complete music.This I consider as one of the best background score.
SPIRIT OF RANGEELA(hindi)
The score by A.R.Rahman in the film in Rangeela .It is the first direct film for A.R.Rahman in hindi. It is a fusion of drums, violin, and a husky voice of anupama.
Tha music reveals the fire inside the girl to succeed in life.But the choreography of the song is disappointing.
THEME MUSIC OF ASOKA(hindi)
I didn’t see the movie.But I heard the music in the cassette.It is good fusion and flute and veena and the tune is very melodious. It seems like moving somewhere inside a jungle.
I fell like the honey flowing into my ears when I listen to this music.The music is by Sandeep Chowta from whom I expect more music of this kind.
AIRTEL
The music that is played in all the TV channels for Airtel ad.This is the best jingle I have ever listened which is scored by A.R.Rahman. Thanks to A.R.R who has accepted to do a jingle even after being popular in indian cinema.The music is a good fusion of mouth organ while starting, followed by flute and the rap by a black and then violin and flute orchestration of the theme at the end.
TITANIC -Love theme(English)
The best movie so far in the world which bagged 11 Oscars. The music by James Horner is mind blowing. The Love theme is used all through the film but I liked use of the theme in the scene when both of them stands at the edge of the ship and kiss each other. It is really the world’s best romantic scene and the music enhance the feel of the scene.
TITANIC- Irish party music in third class deck
The music with piper and percussions is a complete reflection of the period party music.
It is a good dance number. The dance for this music is also excellent. This music is the initial scenes of the film when jack rushes to get into the ship.
