Twitter and Facebook seem alike to people because both are social media networks. Goal of both is almost similar but they try to achieve it in an entirely different way. But sometimes they copy each other if its too famous like Facebook copied Hashtag#, following and followers from Twitter.
On Facebook you can write as many words as you want but on twitter you have to be very clever, precise and brief because of 140 Cherecter limit.
Brief/Detailed :
Twitter bcoz of character limit gives you brief , precise and to the point information. You need not to read an essay. It gives you central idea of thing.
Facebook gives you detailed information about things. But its not good when you don’t have time and patience to read a long story.
Posts on Timeline :
Twitter timeline shows updates on the basis of time i.e most reacet at top and older posts at bottom as you go down on timeline. Even you can see a section of posts at In case you missed it in between your posts.
Facebook shows posts in a mixed haphazard situation reacent can be somewhere in bottom and older can be on top. You can miss some important posts in this way.
Social /Personal :
Twitter is not annoying to user as it is less personal and more social. Whatever comes in your timeline may or may not concern directly to you. It can just ve an information for you.
Facebook is often concerned to you directly. Its more personal than informative often.
Personal messages are often shared and preferred on Facebook than on twitter. And for that purpose Facebook has a great App for video/audio calling and text/voice message
Real/Fake:
Twitter is used by most successful and popular people of world snd by following them you can get into their contact via Twitter. Which is otherwise very much difficult or impossible. Twitter also shows you if person is real or not.
Facebook often contains fake names under the name of dome famous person. People often make and manage many accounts under different names which is not easy to do on twitter.
Sharing Private things:
Twitter is not good for sharing private things like messages, pics, video or audio clips. It is just used for text DM’s rarely.
Facebook is often suitable for private conversation and sharing Private things like pics, video or audio. U can even do secret conversation on messenger.
Group Messages:
Twitter doesn’t support group DM’s
Facebook allows you to make groups for messaging and message to group of people at a time.
Profile Details/Privacy :
Twitter provides and asks for minor details about you like location and few words about your bio.
Facebook gives and wants your every minute details of life. From birth to death. It seems too annoying when they want everything from you.
Complaints, Service and support :
Twitter is better for raising your complaint and getting help from concerned authority. As almost every company and every department of government is having a twitter handle nowadays. You can reach them directly. As its open. And they solve it immediately because everyone is looking at your raised issue.
Facebook is not very good for raising your complaint. Your complaint may be ignored often. Be it in a message or comments or in post.
