U, Me aur Ghar – ( India’s First Web Film)

Sometimes, you strike upon an unknown movie that you haven’t even heard of but there’s something catchy about that that you tend to give it a try. I happened to catch upon this claimed as India’s first Web Film by chance and it turned out to be a pleasent surprise. Though a Movie Buff doesn’t have any reasons to watch a movie, I went on to watch this because of its catchy title and cast comprising of Omkar Kapoor, who was pretty Impressive in PKP2 and Simran Kaur Mundi, who is beautiful.

The film shows the plight of Urban Couples who don’t want to be committed and get themselves entangled in marriage, and because of this, it is difficult for them to find places on rent/Live in. Its a Wafer thin two lines plot and nothing specific to boast of, but the execution is good and you can connect to the two characters – Mittu aka Mithilesh who is a Budding Musician and Chitti aka Chitranshi who is a Copywriter. They are in love but somehow don’t want to agree on some commitments. How the situations lead to the bitterness and ugliness in their relations and what happens next is the crux of the story.

It’s a short and sweet film with good performances. Omkar Kapoor has proved himself in PKP2 and here he kind of carries a similar kind of role. He gives a subtle restrained performance that makes you feel for him and connect with him. Simran Kaur Mundi as Chitti is also good as his GF. She acts well and certainly has potential. Though someone please tell her that she looks Terrible in Crying scenes, just unbearable. But she has a pretty Cute voice and reminded me of Bhagyashree days. Rest of the cast is good. The film has a couple of songs and thats fine.

Even With its short length of 1: 30 hours, sometimes the film looks a bit drag but still it has its moments – both funny and emotional and its entirely watchable mainly because of the characters and their performances.
