This movie has passed through a litmus test at the censors for its explicit content and throws up the oft repeated question whether creative art should be censored/regulated before it reaches the audience.
Essentially a story of 4 characters who are affected by the drug menace one way or the other. There is a local drug taking rockstar( Shahid), a young corrupt cop( Diljit), a female Bihari labourer( Alia), a young female doctor(Kareena) and the rock star’s manager( Satish Kaushik) who play the principal roles. All these actors have well sketched characters which they have performed well.The much discussed and depicted corrupt cop shady politician nexus forms the basis of the film.
This is the other Punjab of drug addicts and it breaks the stereotype of sarson field, lassi and
bhangra.
