Udta Punjab is one of the best movies of 2016. The story and screenplay are very good. But what makes this film special is the reality which it shows on screen. The story revolves around four characters i.e a labourer( Alia Bhat).
A rockstar( Shahid Kapoor) , A corrupt cop ( Diljot Dosanjh) and a doctor( Kareena Kapoor) and how the narcopolitics in Punjab creates havoc in their lives. It potrays the adversities faced by Punjab due to drug trafficking and how even political parties are involved in it.
The one actress who really stands out in the whole movie is Alia Bhat, her performance is simply impressive. From no make up look to her bihaari assent, she is totally into the character. Shahid is good and so is Diljit, even kareena performs well, though she has a very little to do in the movie.
