Udta Punjab has a good concept about how drugs have taken over punjab and especially it’s youth.
What’s good:
The best thing about this movie are the petformances.Shahid, Alia, Kareena, Diljit even Satish Kaushik were all amazing to watch.
All songs were in sync to the flow of the film.Also a few scenes such as when alia tells her story to shahid, kareena’s last scene, diljit beating his nephew who cannot control his thirst for drugs etc are some of the best scenes in the film.
Whats Bad:
There should have been some figures and stats at the end of the film highlighting the current state of drug addicts in Punjab.The end of the film could have been made more clear.Kareena kapoor had did not have much to do. Shahid kapoor’s punjabi accent was weird.The film should have had atleast one scene that shows death due to drugs.
Verdict:
It is a movie that should be watched and I really wished there were more scenes that could have highlighted the risk of drug intake but nevertheless it is a good attempt by the makers to bring forward this incident. The film is good for a one time watch.P.S: There are good amount of bad words in the film!
