Is it really Inspired from the Korean Movie??

Let me start with the movie review first and then inspirations.. Mallika and Ranvir are great.. as Shobha mentioned in her coloumn in TOI, the chemistry rocks and mallika is truly HOT.. story line is different and for those who have not watched the other versions, it would be entertaining to a large extent.. All in all.. a three star rating.. better than many other bollywood flicks like one, two, three or some other shady ones (but well known casting) which I had seen in the recent past..

The main reason why I sat down to write this review / opinion is.. I am, kind of, having a deja vu feeling with the movie.. actually scene by scene deja vu.. it was really strange.. on an average I watch 10 movies a week.. so I had a feeling that I have already seen this one but this is a new release.. so it can’t be that I have seen this flavour before..

then I sat down on the internet to figure out when I have seen this before.. Well, as most of you know that this movie is inspired by the korean movie ’My Sassy Girl’ (English Title) but I am vevry sure that I speak no Korean nor I watched the English version.. Now this is a really messy feeling up in there.. and I am one of those who get very restless when you can’t remember the right word or context.. and after living through 2 hours of deja vu this is killing me even more..

My other language is Telugu and then I started searching for the inspiration from that side.. It seems that I have watched the movie called ’Maa Idhari Madhya’ (2006) in telugu and that movie was inspired from the same korean movie.. bummer.. how are we supposed to know.. who is getting what inspiration (let me cut to the chase.. remaking) from where..

Is the whole movie industry a big remaking machine? Are there only few stories but are made, remade, re remade in so many languages?? PS: For some one who cares for my opinion, I think remaking of a film is not such a bad idea.. it, in a way, helps in overcoming the language barrier.. (Though, releasing the original with subtitles is the best alterative)
