The food was served on a banyan leaf in a traditional way, and we all dug in with our hands.
We started with Bellam Gari or Jaggery Vadas. I am not in favor of starting a meal with a sweet. However, this had a different taste – sweet medu vadas.
Next, was the turn of a new preparation of the chef – I will describe it as Paneer Masala Vada. Liked the stuff would have gone well with khichdi or dal chawal. The Bangla Kodi (chicken in a potato jacket) was as usual good.
The Konaseema Kodi Vepudu was quite spicy and I loved it. The quality of prawns in the prawn starter was very good, but overall preparation lacked taste.
Crunchy Curd Cutlet, a cutlet with curd inside was a novel preparation. I had it with avakaya pickle to enhance the taste. Chapala Boneless Fry had very good quality fish in it.
Other starters served were Uli Rings (Onion rings coated in a batter and fried) and Idli Vepudu which tasted like pickled dhokla,
Overall, a nice eatery.
