There is a theory; for every person there is a person the complete opposite.
This is what Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) believes. Elijah was born with two broken arms and two broken legs. This pattern continued throughout his life and he spent most of his days in the hospital. After hearing of a tragic train crash with one sole survivor, Elijah knows he has found the complete opposite of him.
Elijah goes to find this survivor, David (Bruce Willis). He presents David with a series of questions to find out if he indeed cannot be hurt. Has he ever been sick? Has he ever broken bones? David can’t remember ever being sick, so Elijah explains to him his theory, which he learned about through reading comic books.
David starts to realize that not only has he never been sick, he also can tell when people he meets have done bad things.
If this sounds ridiculous, that was how it came across during this movie. The movie was written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. It was a bizarre tale with an even stranger ending. Not that the actors weren’t convincing in their roles, they were. It was this unbelievably bad story. Getting information from a comic book and then basing your life on it . . . Come on!
You guessed it! I would not recommend this movie. I am usually a fan of both Willis and Jackson, but am sorry I wasted time watching this movie.
Enjoy!
