I made a withdrawal of Rs 23000/- using my ICICI card at their Dharmatolla, Kolkata Branch ATM on 1st September, 2009 at 7;15 am. The amount got debited from my account without me getting the cash. I contacted both the ICICI and Union Bank.
The response from the former in writing has been that I shall get my money in 12 working days.The response from the latter over cell phone, two managerial personnel, has been
a) I’ll get it after a month and what can I expect if there are such numerous cases pending with their ATMs : this at the beginning.
b) Today I have been coerced into accepting their version of events and talked to a higher up.
c) The latter failed to update me about the status of my transaction and hung up on me.
So now I am waiting for the powers that be to help me out. One retail investor matters little...
