UAE the orient of the MIDDLE EAST!!!

A BIG hello 2 all u readers...

let me begin by saying that with its HUGE expat population UAE needs no introduction...with a population of approx 4.2 million(1 million immigrants last year alone) from which 80% make up the expat population one can easily conclude that this place is indeed the melting pot of world cultures...

heres the catch in all the above ive just written...out of that 80% of 4.2 million...around 45-50% are indians!!!!...so there...u know that coming to dubai WILL NOT be a challenge... at least communication wise...every third person is an indian here with majority hailing from mostly kerala, tamil nadu, mumbai, andhra pradesh, hyderabad, gujarat and the likes.

im telling u this because I feel every potential visitor should know SOME FACTS...moreover ive been living here ever since 1977...so I know stuff...

if u ever intend on coming here...i suggest any time between november to feb...the other months being summer months and mind u...u DONT wanna be in the heat here....july august will hover in the late 40’s(celcius)...the winters here are nice...temps are near early to mid 20s...with breeze all throughout...

transportation is rather efficient...with metered taxis in most emirates here...they r dependable and most of them honest....i prefer if u use the cabs with indian drivers...cos it will be easier to relate and u will feel more at home...

shopping: well places to visit are DUBAI CITY CENTRE, IBN BATTUTA MALL, MALL OF EMIRATES, MERCATO MALL, KARAMA SHOPPING DISTRICT, SHARJAH OLD AND NEW GOLD SOUK AND A FEW OTHER MALLS BASED IN DUBAI.

sheikh zayed road is a must see for the visual appeal it holds!!!!

burj al arab at night is WICKEDDDDD...try getting a view from the nearby public beach..simply divine...

hotels are all good...although I suggest u stick to 4 star if ur stay is short...otherwise 3 star for a long one...i must admit that prices are rather on the high side bcos of influx of soooo many tourists...book hotels around naif road area(deira) for easy access to all areas of dubai..other options include Rigga street(deira), and a few hotels in computer street(BurDubai)...bur dubai is more ideal than Deira of u want to do sight seeing..

wot u may not like about ur trip is the attitude of all ppl here...money as u know does make the world go round...but sadly..it can alter egos too...indians here are generally more egg headed than those back home...racism does exist and it comes especially from the other communities...so b careful to mind ur own business when it comes to dealing with non indian expats...

sharjah is a sleepy no too developed town...sights include corniche, old and new gold souk, and city centre along with sahara centre and sharjah mega mall.

other towns dont need a visit....abu dhabi is rather far away and sadly I dont have much to say about the capital city here...i find it too sleepy for my tastes..

dubai has night clubs galore...most close at 3 am...so there...talk about whetting ur whistle...hehe...club desi is a must go for our indian bretherin...every hotel has a club...but I suggest JIMMY DIX at movenpick hotel, EL RANCHOS in deira and zinc on sheih zayed road to name a few...QD’s is an awesome place for a by-the-sea dinner for 2!!!

i would recommend this trip for ppl aged 25-35...if they wanna njoy the full options here...u need to be on ur feet here...that way u get to see more of the city’s awesome sights...

dont forget to try the wild wadi in jumeirah beach hotel and desert safari complete with belly dancing too...hehe

ALL DA BEST for ur trip...
