In Sept 09, I had to transfer my belongings and assets from Bangalore to Coimbatore and I got in touch with United there, I got all stuff to be done by around 9.3 k (including transit insurance). My stuff included a pulsar bike, few chairs and small table, fridge, wash machine, kitchen utensils and lot os toys and other such stuff - no coats/alamarahs.
Upon their packing the last minute they asked for additional cost 150 rs for packing materials cost etc. Then I refused to their manager, and refused to pay. He(the manager) admitted that I should not pay the additional amount.
Later came the cheating.
I received the delivery in Coimbatore on time, though the lorry driver & other 2 lorry people were the only ones came to my apartment. I HAD TO ARRANGE THE UNLOADING etc etc., for which I had to arrange, spend addl money etc. I was the most active worked to unload the items, though I paid hefty amount to unload. No executive from United were present, no one were available to contact.
I gave a call to United then and asked, as agreed you should unload and unpack as per agreement! But the concerned person told: as I did not give the 150 rs for packing materials at first, they wont do the unloading and I need to bear it from my end - against our understanding. It is purely against our agreement and understanding and it gives lot of trouble to me - and I talked to couple of people from United in Bangalore and finally told them that I will sue them for this.
"DO WHAT EVER YOU COULD/WANT TO! We dont mind!" was the reply!
Also because of their carelessness, I lost a cloth stand (it is still in Bangalore, that they have to ship actually, but it seems I should go and fetch - even after 6 months) worth 1000 rs.
All in all, very bad experience. Stay away from them!
