My son has completed his graduation from Calcutta University which is one of the oldest Universities in India. Many children from my family have completed their graduation from Calcutta University and it is the most preferred university in West Bengal because of its education standard and options of many colleges.
Most of the colleges in West Bengal are affiliated to Calcutta University which imparts graduation as well as post graduation degree for all courses.
Ethics, course curriculum, regular efforts to develop education model, highly educated Professors and Researchers are the main pillars behind success of this University. It is said that the course curriculum and examination patterns are such standardised that those who are pursuing graduation from this University can easily clear the post graduation of in other University.
Also, its standard matches to professional courses like MBA, CA, CS, etc because of which students of this University clears their professional courses successfully. My son still says that his professional achievement is mainly because of the study curriculum of Calcutta University which simultaneously prepared him for professional degree.
The only aspect which is to point that the University is not getting that support and research base from the Government which it deserves due to which many development aspects in the study module has been compromised. But thanks to mentors and its passed out students in whose support this University is still shining. Anyone who seeks to pursue higher studies by establishing a remarkable and respectable graduation degree, then Calcutta University is the best option to initiate and that is possible only when you score good in academics. This University is such strong on its education principle that still as on date it does not entertain home based courses like distance or diploma. It has currently started e-learning facilities whose main purpose is to provide degree courses to the rural areas’ children who cannot afford and manage to visit this University. Almost all eminent personalities from West Bengal has completed their education from this University whether you talk about Sourav Ganguly(cricketer), Ashok Kumar(actor), Anurag Basu(entertainment industry), Rituparna Sen(Tollywood actress), Anirban Mukherjee(writer) and many more. Of course, discipline is uncompromised. Extracurricular activities is the part of course curriculum whose administration is in the hand of knowledgeable and respected people. It’s a proud matter for parents that their children are graduate from Calcutta University which I do.
