Experiment With Fasting

The social man, has over a long history, developed a system of sustaining its health, growth & maintenance of the physical by the intake of food(aahaara), an external substance and of course water.


Taking a look at ourselves, we will not remember missing the habituated requirement of food even once.Anybody who regularly forgets his food, will be certainly suffering at psychological setup.


Food is a very important constituent of the human beings day.


So, what happens to the food which is taken in.?    The biological body starts its biological function in digesting, absorbing, assimilating and excreting;for this the entire Gastro-intestinal tract(mouth to the end of intestines) at the organic level i.e mouth, food pipe, stomach, liver, pancreas, intestines are put to use.


The organs are put to activity and they have to use up their energies, secretions to digest, absorb, assimilate.The essences generated from the food(which is temporary in nature)is utilized as a synthetic form of support to the body .


One needs to become aware as to how the food works with, and for the system, and also the actual utility of the various kind of food.


We also need to know the actual quantity of food required by the body-in normal or ill health.


A person takes food a)when there is hunger b)desire for food c)taking by schedule.Frankly speaking we have no awareness of our food and eating;and we just dump combinations in the furnace.We, after passage of time, and ravages of the wasteful and excessive dumping suffer unwanted and easily avoided health problems.


Can we stop for once and look at the system and the whole process of taking in of food.Let us know what hunger and desire is.To get to that one needs to give more time to the state of remaining without food for a day or two.


Since we are experimenting;we need to pay a sincere attention to all that the body, mind and senses chatter.In an non  emotional and non judgemental way study the entire wave of things, happening with you and the body.


If your effort is honest, I am sure you wil learn a great deal about your body and also about your human life constitution.The Your Self.


As one remains in’fasting’ and in learning awareness-one will slowly experience the disturbing waves rising and then falling;for another to rise and fall and on and on.All this is your experience and one is learning about the facts actually and not literally.


One will become more and more aware of the simple fact of hunger and desire, its sublime nature.In the first attempt one might be recollecting all the food joints and their menu cards-but this exactly is how one gets to beat the drudgery of compulsively taking food all the time for surviving the day.


As one does such involved fasting, fortnightly/weekly(depending), for 10 times max, one will greatly become aware of the bodys’ constitution, its inbuilt primal and kinetic power.Not only this, a realisation will dawn, that the body requires a simple, frugal diet without much complex or complicated food.


Slowly one learns to know his true inbuilt energy and kinetic living power.The being moves on to experience greater integrity at the organic and mental level.


The biological bodys potential energy comes to the front and functions.The system therefore experiences a greater peace, harmony and vitality;it does not require more of unwinding, by way of rest/sleep.


Having realized this simple objective, on can switch off the fasting and in regular mode see how the system demands so little of everything.Be with, and enjoy the bio-rhythm that you have got to.


As with regards food intake-it would have fallen to less than half or quarter.The systems energy is not unduly wasted in working out unwanted tasks at the internal level.


Do remember, that when there is lot of physical exertion or usage of muscle then the system would require particular kinds of food in more specific terms;and if one has got aware of his bio-rhythm, then in a very efficient(optimum of time, quality and quantity) way he(the internal power)will take it.


This Fasting is not any so called yogic or spiritual effort-but about coming as closely as possible to our Constitution.


Fasting recharges certain bio-chemicals to active life & if done finely, improves, endocrinal functions too.!


CAUTION:People who have GI tract problems of the kind of -acidity, sugar, ulceritis, pancreatitis or even B.P. and Heart related can best avoid or attempt as per the convinience of health.Constipated set up can attempt without fear.


Whence breaking the fast first requirement would be to give proper hydration-one can take an average glass of jaggery water, steamed green grams, other easily digested items like khichdi etc.Not to give immediately spicy, fried, or even heavy fibrous fruits or food stuff.Notice, as one breaks the fast, how the body feels a bit weak when food is taken.Just shows the energy quality of food(grosser in comparison to body) and that of the of the body(which is more finer)are so different, but greatly dependent in time dimension.One needs to optimally harness the combination of both the energies.Not to sacrifice one at the expense of other.


DON’T PRACTICE EVERLASTING FASTING-YOU WILL NOT LAST LONG.
