Think thrice before you buy

I had been looking for a mixer grinder which had lockable jars. I earlier used a Philips processor which was great except my mil had issues with opening the jars as they were tight and I had issues with keeping the lids held down whilst the mixie was operational. I have been through over 4 experiences of the lid flying off and stuff being sprayed all over my clean kitchen walls. So the search began…I narrowed it down to 2 models The new Philips with the adjustable lock arm – problem here was the it was expensive and moreover the quality was pathetic. Cheap plastic and low grade metal blades.

Made me wonder if the piece was actually an original Philips. The Kenstar Stallion Dx Model No: MG 0411 4J: I saw this model only once in the Metrowalk mall in Rohini. Saw the 3jar version at spencers in Gurgaon. The plastic here too was bad. But I thought about going for it but the site(https://kenstar-appliances.com) never worked. Then on the 9th Dec I was going through Big Bazaar in Ambi Mall and the USHA MG2573 caught my eye. It had everything I was looking for. 3 jars with lockable lids The dome had spatula on it so that I could scrape off stuff that stuck there Large jars Also attachments for whisking and a fruit strainer or whatever you call that. Long enough wire with a storage place to keep the wire wrapped.

Suction pads on the legs So I purchased this mixie Serial number: ISK27100515 on the 9th itself. Now of course when you get home and you show off your prize faults are bound to be found… First noticed was that my dome had only 2 locks on …but looking further I found the 3rd one in the box, it had slipped off. Checking this I found that the locks on the dome can come off quite easily. Now I have to be careful every time I wash the damn thing cos it could just slip away forever. Anyway being lateon Sunday evening it was left for the next weekend to be used and then the real shock hit My blender jar leaks… The liquids pops up actually suirts with force from the lid where a gap with a strainer option is available( I guess to pour out directly) The metal jar heats up and when I put the whip blades in and tried to get butter out it would not work as it heated up the whole mix. I used the scraper on the dome and it’s a joke.

It hardly touches the dome and only big bits are wiped off…. I am crying….i really am. Not only have I wasted money but I had to clean up the spurts off liquid, look for the fallen off locks twice and then wipe up the mess from the leaking blender. I have complained twice from the site and have also emailed these usha ids I found ‘corporate@ushainternational.com’;’rkgupta@ushainternational.com’;’pc_bhandari@ushainternational.com’;’anil_verma@ushainternational.com’;’anjali_sachdeva@ushainternational.com’;’kb_singh@ushainternational.com’;’sunil_wadhwa@ushainternational.com’ I have faxed my complaint over to 0124 2883200 now await the feedback. Shall keep the story going as it unravels My view on this….It WAS a good product on the drawing board however production messed it up. The mixie is everything you need but what is the point if you have to deal with what I had to. Please check for all these points before you buy one yourself.
