I knew this movie would be bad just by watching its trailer but did not expect it to be this bad! watched this movie last sunday, and it was really a horrible movie, the only good thing about this movie is that it has some impressive visual effects but other than that it was bland.
The plot of this movie is written very poorly and it has failed to establish any sort of plot point, the writer seems to have given absolutely no thought on this case. The story is so boring it gave me a headache, its all about the Major Valerian and his Sergent Laureline they are the part of the peace keeping force of the universe, as they go on a mission to get the converter thingy and steals it from the black market along with a pearl that Valerian had dreamed of cause he wanted to give it to Laureline as a gift as he wanted to marry her, but she had declined at first. When they return to base things go wrong, their base gets attacked, their commander gets kidnapped then they get into an accident, Laureline and Valerian gets separated, then Laureline gets kidnapped and the roller coaster of the dreadfully poor story goes on. Honestly everything is such a mess, their are a lot of plot holes and unanswered questions which you will get if you see this movie, direction and writing of this movies is really disappointing.
No it does not stop at the poor plot the Performances are bad as well. The cast seems to have a hard time performing or going through the awful script and makes things harder for the viewers. Dane Dehaan and Cara Delevingne who plays the lead roles tried to do justice to their roles but it was not enough, as the poor plot and direction may have hindered their performances. Clive who plays their commander did not do any better.
Music is totally forgettable for this movie, I did not find any catchy themes or any good background scores in it, the musics which are present in the movie are all very dull.
Cinematography was good, the visual effects were nice, the CGI and graphics works were all good, this movie would have been better if the plot was composed properly.
