I took my dad to Vasan Eye Care at Bommanahalli. He was diagnosed with cataract on both eyes. The doctor prescribed medicine(Their pharmacy doesn’t have a single medicine prescribed by their doctors) to reduced the pressure and told us that the surgery can be done only when the eye pressure is reduced. We were asked come back after a week. They we were send to a lady called Radha, who is supposed to be the counsellor there. She checked the file and told us that the surgery needs to be done the very next day. She gave us the options of the lenses and was keen only on selling those to us. When we mentioned about the doctor’s comments. She told us that the doctor can be wrong and we were surprised to hear this." Its these counsellors and not the doctors who are making decisions on the surgery" When we enquired to the doctor again, doctor told that surgery can be done only after a week of medication. We brought this to the notice of the counsellor again and she started shouting at us and then finally agreed to what the doctor said.
After a week of medication we went there for pre-surgical check up and they posted my dad’s case to the next day for surgery. And at 5:00 pm the counsellor came us and told that we need to get a certificate from a Physician from some other hospital that my dad is fit for the surgery. After spending 70, 000 bucks for this surgery we have to now find a physician at the last moment who knows that the surgery is not going to be done at his hospital but has to give a certificate saying that my dad is fit for a surgery that too at the last moment.
Their advertisement says they have the service of physician at their hospital and we are asked to get it from outside (I dont think even Govt. Hospitals will do that). Then we told about their advertisement (Good that we saw that), they said their physician is on leave. Then we said its not acceptable and then they arranged a physician.
