Well Yash Raj films is really counting on this movie, remember the hype they created when they said u would come to know the name of this new production in the movie Dhoom. The funny part is some newspapers had already talked about the ’’Veer Zaara ’’ name & its story.
I first heard its music on the teasers flooded on TV channels. The tune with which Tere Liye starts is sort of clicked it with me infact that song is pretty decent. The other song that I liked is Do Pal ...its a soft number. The other two songs that I liked were Yeh hum agaye hai kahan( a typical Yash raj number & music) & Tum pass aa rahe ho( jagit singh wow!). Infact the lyrics of all the songs are good.
I have doubts about the Madan Mohan part but yes the music is decent, better than what A R RAhman & the others churn out ..(which no where sounds hindi music.) Yes lata sounds a little old in the songs ........but still she does a great job..... Yes another fact that I was wondering there are so many good male singers from Jagjit singh to Gurdass Mann but why only lata & not asha in any number? Well Asha would have done a better job too.
As for buying this album ...well its worth hearing for 2-3 weeks but we all have different tastes and if u like the idea of listening to a variety of male singers & that too with lata and also are tried of Dhoom type music then fine this album is ur pick.
The songs catch on u after u hear them for some time. But if u none of the above exicte u ...its for u to make the decision after hearing it from ur friend or seeing for urself in movie. The music is fine only if they dont over play the teasers on the TV till the movie is released.
