I am 25 years old and do not typically have sensitive skin. Recently, shaving my legs has been very irritating as we just moved and have a fairly small water heater so I have to start shaving my legs before the chilly bumps goes away and end up with an irritated rash.
So this evening I purchased Veet thinking that by removing it with the rubber razor would make it a less irritating removal process than Nair and less abrasive than a razor.
Almost IMMEDIATELY after applying the Veet, it started to burn. It says to leave it on for 3 minutes so exactly at 3 minutes I began removing it with the rubber razor as fast as I could.(I had applied it to one leg then the other 2 minutes later so that it did not sit on one leg past the max time of 6 minutes. Timing each leg separately) So instructions were followed correctly.
I rinsed my legs with cool water then showered and washed with body wash to make sure all the product was removed. My legs burned the entire time. I dried off and they continued to burn. I know from prior incidents with razor burn that applying lotion soon after just makes it burn worse so I did not apply anything. Hours after the fact, soaking in cool water and finally applying cetaphil my legs are still burning and rashed.
I have never had a razor burn rash sting for more than 10 minutes. Needless to say I will not be using Veet again. When I rated the sensitivity on this product I chose according to other reviewers. I am rating it as a very harsh chemical and that anyone with even slightly sensitive skin should avoid this product.
Id prefer having legs so hairy that people confused me with Robin Williams before using Veet again.
