Morality hidden, hard hitting tale.

The story of this movie starts with an enterprising youngster(Sivakarthikeyan) in a slum wants his people to live in dignity, but has to take on an ambitious capitalist, who only wants to dominate his field.

Velaikkaran is a morality hidden and hard hitting tale centred on the lives of blue collared workers and their employers. The movie starts with a lovely shots of have and have-nots and also there a lovely line about the mindset of have-nots.

The story shifts to a local slum populated with hundreds of families whose major sources of income is through working with Kasi(Prakash Raj) a local Rowdy, who is feared more than respected. Sivakarthikeyan plays the hero role as Arivu, who dreams of a life outside the slum and wants to free his people from the clutches of Kasi, as he feels they’re in a wrong line of work. As he learn that they’re doing their work wrongly.

The film talks lot about marketing, understanding consumer dynamic, supply and demand, and detailing that has gone into making audiences understand these concepts in the simplest manner is commendable.

Velaikkaran, given that it takes up a very serious issue and addresses it very sincerely, could have been even more realistic.

Anirudh deserves a round of applause for consistently giving blockbuster Tracks and help the film gain more Hype.

The length of the movie is downer, may the the second half of the movie could have been more crisp. The whole Velaikkaran has a powerful script with some exciting moments.
