Brought this TV in 1995 from Ashok Vihar, Delhi. Has been serving me for 10 years till now.
The following parts were changed within the previous 5 years.
Remote control device - once -the kids are to be blamed.
Left side speaker - once.
On-off button - once.
Once the green color was not appearing, and one local technician rectified it, I do not
know what part, he changed. I have never taken it to the Videocon service center at all, not even once.
Anyhow I have not spent more than Rs.1000 for repairs within the last 10 years of using this model TV. I don’t remember the exact price, something around Rs.12000 in 1995. It bore the brunt of all the heat and dust of Delhi until 1996. It bore the brunt of my kids’ torture in Palakkad, Kerala from 1996 to 1998. It bore the brunt of the heat and dust of Chennai since 1999 till now. No special dust covers or fancy TV stands. Just a weekly wipe with a cotton cloth. Not even a separate voltage stabilizer was connected. Sometimes this machine used to be on from 5 am in the morning to 11 pm in the night continuously. Cricket matches, festival special shows on regional channels. Has given our family about 22000 hours of entertainment.
