I had purchased a 29” Colour Television from M/s Vijay Sales on 20th Apr 2006.
Since this purchase, I have contact the service station atleast four times including replacement of the remote control quite early after the purchase
Ever since then the service has been anything but satisfactory, not to mention the very rude staff on the Videocon call centre(Tel no: 022 – 39898910) and also the service staff who visit home, and who have absolutely no clue of the situation.
Approx on 24th/25th May, the TV’s screen shrunk and when the engineer arrived, he said it was a “software problem”. The same evening or next, another ‘engineer’ arrived by which time there was no display at all.
When asked about what was to be done, he mumbled something totally incomprehensible and his ‘supervisor’ on the phone was so rude to the extent that he challenged us to put the complaint on writing when we told him that we were fed up with the service and asked him for a replacement or at least a fulfilling service!
During the last one year of purchase, we have passed through very bad experience with the product and till date there has been no respite from the nauseating service standards that follow.
We are now demanding that the TV be taken back and the total money refunded to us along with 12% interest for the last one year+ respectable amount for all the harassment that has been given to us as “service”. Yes, we DO NOT need a replacement of ANY Videocon product ANYMORE!
I had written to MD-Videocon in May 2007 with CC to The Consumer Guidance Society of India under consumer Protection Act 1986. And the dealer also has been informed.
No response so far!
So much for the “Indian multinational” with a superstar as its brand ambassador!:L
