Hum Paanch, Ekta Kapoors sitcom before she hit upon the Saas-bahu formula had a bespectacled bookworm as the 4th daughter of Ashok Saraf, whom no one thought would come to silver screen as Parineeta, after being spotted by VVC in a Shubha Mudgal video aptly titled "Seekho Na, Nainon ki bhaasha piya"
The video displayed the sensual overtones of the Indian housewife who was still not bold enough to express her feelings through any medium except her expressive eyes. A mould which she has just recently broken as the explicitly sensuous and rugged Krishna in Ishqiya. With a baritone that is the second most popular and recognized after that of the Big B (her 65 year old son, Paa) and a face as fresh as the morning dew, she is the typical beauty every Indian boy would love to take home to mom. The one who could make a tough cookie like Munna Bhai go week in knees with her "Good morning Mumbaai" also played the silent tormentor Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiaya.
Versatile and talented, but this quintessential Indian Beauty has received a lot of flak for her dressing sense, which is atrocious, to say the least, when she tries to portray a western styled woman.
Hope to see more of her in different roles in the coming days...!
Heres wishing her all the best in life !!!
Cheers,
