My son went to this school for many years. Students here are brilliant while the teachers are very supportive. And I believe that the administration is among the hardest working leaders. Ive worked here for about 2 years before I had to take a sabbatical for my 1 year old. So I can provide feedback about the school both as a parent and as a teacher.
As a TEACHER:
For anyone seeking to work here, the Head of School is a phenomenal leader. No one is scared of the "principal" here. Shes intelligent, kind and extremely knowledable. Youll see kids and teachers in her cabin 90% of the time, just because they ADORE her. She is so supportive as a colleague. I cant compare the working experience here. The professional learning is just focused on one thing: develop the whole child. Dont focus on only one aspect of the child. Include students in classroom decisions. Involve families in recognizing positive aspects of the child. These are things youll hear again and again and again in staff meetings. The school has a very prestigious advisory board: Dr. Mohan from IISc, Dr. Vohra from IIMA and Dr. Gabrielle from University of Missouri. And these guys come in regularly for professional development. So its a win-win for your professional learning. You wont find this anywhere else, I can promise you this. BTW: If youve worked for business-run management like me in the past, youve obviously had to deal with money minded businessmen looking to enslave teachers to keep their profit margin nice and large.(There are too many those in Bangalore, and I am honestly sick of them). I personally vouch for the team here. The school management is extremely generous and very supportive of the profession itself. The payscale is extremely good and the learning opportunities as an educator are vast. The managing directors are hardcore, thorough-bred educationists themselves. They are very PRO-teachers and PRO-students. Basically, the working environment in this school is sublime. Warm, loving and very, very supportive.
As a PARENT:
Well, Im a big fan of the school. Vidyashilp has gained top quality grades in A Levels and ICSE board examinations results. Last year, the school couldnt offer admission to any outside candidate. And had only 2 seats open to public.Insider information So trust me when I say its highly coveted. Quality education is seriously hard to come by. I have one son in the 4th grade and another in the 1st. My nephew is in the 11th grade. My kids really enjoy their time here. They were made to feel welcome from the first day. The teachers were willing to spend extra time going over work when you dont understand it and they have excellent extra curriculum activities. Over 18 sports to choose from. They have a debate forum, a journalism office, a student council, STEM programs, yoga and meditation classes, cookery, technology etc. . I was first surprised at the range and wondered "how do kids do all this" but gosh! They will surprise you. All the kids are bright, sweet and friendly. The faculty are so hardworking. If you do get in to this school, count your lucky stars and ENJOY the process!
