Dear Readers
Happy Diwali to all.
This is to express my pleasant most experiences with Vijai TVS in Avadi - CHENNAI, an exceptional TVS two wheelers dealer.
I would call it an accident when on 19th of September 2016, my fate drove me into Vijai TVS - Avadi to look for a replacement bike for my office use after having sold off my 11 year old love, Splendor Plus 2005 the same morning.
I started with Star City and ended up in Victor as preferred by my elder princess, a blue color. The owner and the staff were so polite, so friendly and guiding till I booked the vehicle. This is very common till you book your vehicle, the way you are treated is heavenly.
The true faces started coming out on day 2. I shall list my experiences one by one in short to ensure I dont kill too much of your time.
1). Two days post my booking, I called up to check if the vehicle is ready for registration. They answered stating "YES". I had a question on the manufacture month of the vehicle(frame / engine). I dont know why the staff of Vijai TVS Avadi and the owner of the concern were in so much discomfort to answer my very small question. As a consumer, I know my question was within the consumer law boundary and I had all rights to know when the product I am buying was manufactured. An extremely pleasant experience though!
2). Delivery date came. On 23rd evening, I visited Vijai TVS half hardheartedly with my family to take delivery. The kind of delivery they did has been awesome, which I would say, doesnt make a point for the way they have started behaving with me, which I shall list ahead. Everything was done and to my shock my wife observed a heavy scratch in the right handle bar tip. I informed them immediately, but the very casual approach of the ladies staff was "it is nothing sir. please take it. we can rectify it later.". Now you readers have to judge my mindset at that point of time, after paying 65000 rupees as net cash, will anyone be ready to accept a scratched / damaged vehicle. I am a frank person so I should not hide the fact that post my opposition, a gentleman from PDI section came in a lightening speed and took the vehicle in, within no time brought it out with the scratches rectified. My honest salutes to that gentleman(name forgot!) At least one person cared about the customer satisfaction.!
3). The total amount collected from me was Rs. 64, 700.00 as net cash. But the split ups werent clear and not justified:
Ex show room price+ taxes= Rs. 55025.00(justified)
Handling, Insurance, Registration, etc= Rs. 7625.00(No BREAKUPS provided)
Extended Warranty booklet= Rs. 350.00(justified)
Extra Fittings / Accessories= Rs. 1200.00(all accessories over priced)
This sums up to Rs. 64200.00 and there was no account / voucher / bills / receipts provided for Rs. 500.00 balance. An oral description of 400.00 for RTO online payments and Rs. 100.00 for Flag Day hasnt been substantiated with apt documentation, which is an audit fail.
Now coming to the Rs. 7625.00 misc charges for which breakups not provded:
Insurance - Rs. 1108.00(for a 95% ex showroom price) which sounds "not too bad"
Life Time Tax - Rs. 4322.00(as in the RC book)
Challan Paid - Rs. 60.00(as in RC Book)
This sub total works out to be Rs. 5490.00. So remaining Rs. 2, 135.00 has been just gulped away by the dealer.
So total money paid without justification for TVS Victor is Rs. 2135.00+ Rs. 500.00(mentioned above)= Rs. 2, 635.00
4). To my surprise, I bought a blissful blue TVS Victor 2016, but the invoice read Volcano Red as the colour. Voila! I guess the owner of Vijai TVS could have appointed a 2nd standard student kid, who would easily distinguish between a red and blue colour easily as she has good vision. I sympathize on the lady RTO department official who did this blunder. Well, to my part I got the invoice rectified the very next day.
Surprise was still in store for me when I read my RC book for my blue colour Victor as the same RED. Well, again a trip to the dealer to get this rectified. An elderly person responsible for this job at least bare minimum treated me as a human. I got my RC rectified, which is a life long negativity to my RC owing to the pen correction made though endorsed with the RTO Seal. I wonder how RTOs register blue vehicles red and vice versa .! No Clue, but Kudos!
5). The very important part here, the performance. Right from day one, I observed a serious problem with the gear box. Every morning when I start my bike to leave for office, and engage first gear post enough idling, the vehicle just leaps(jumps) ahead like a leopard with great jerk. Everyone around used to see this as a daily drama and a few kids even started making comments on this behavior of the bike. I totally started feeling insecure as the bike may propel forward and throw me ahead.
I took the bike to Vijai TVS service section immediately, but a cool response from the mechanics was -"Bring it for first service, well see."
After riding 730 odd kms, the vehicle went for first service in three weeks and I insisted them to arrest the problem. They, as usual, nodded their Tanjore Doll heads. Post the first service, the problem still became more rash and the jerk was still more, frightening me every morning and evening.
My wild guess is that its a manufacturing defect with the clutch and gear and Vijai TVS doesnt want to arrest it as it may lead to a warranty replacement.
I gave the bike for a rework on Friday 28th Oct 2016 and the mechanical crew in Vijai TVS committed to deliver the rectified bike on Sunday, i.e., today evening(30th Oct). Today I called them, the worst response I got from them was a lady murmuring behind the phone that I am initiating a quarrel. I got really wild this time. I really dont have any good reason to initiate a quarrel. I was committed a delivery on Sunday, which was false. When I enquired, I get impolite unprofessional response. I drove in car to their service station and had to blast, making the false allegation of "quarrelling" as said by the lady staff, making it true.
After a blast from me, I was assured the delivery of the bike tomorrow(31st Oct evening) post rectification. I have my fingers crossed to see if Vijai TVS would really rectify the problem.
Now the call is all yours my readers. I promise and assure that the above are my sweet experiences with Vijai TVS for whom customers are just money payers to their business and post money payment, these innocent customers mean nothing to them. Apart from so many dissatisfaction, there was not even an approach for apologies from their end.
All the experiences and happenings narrated above are 100% true. I have my cell phone number here 7200067199 and am an unfortunate customer of this dealer.
All this dealer expects is a customer who would pay them what they demand, never ever questions anything about the product or service, keeps mum or silent and never opens his mouth against them.
Again, think twice or even twenty times before you buy a bike from VIJAI TVS - Avadi, an emblem for customer service and satisfaction!
Ever yours
Kumar S
