Bad Movie Experience

This movie theatre(City Pride- Kothrud) boasts of being a multiplex, sells the movie tickets at same amount as a multiplex but it falls way below standards of being called a multiplex. I had watched the first movie here some months back and had decided to never waste my money over here. But recently I had accidently booked a show over here over internet and unfortunately had to land here once again to be disappointed. The experience was even worse than previous one.

Firstly, the Box Office itself is pathetic. There is no organized system of collecting tickets for current show, advance booking or tele/internet booking. You go to any good multiplex and they have separate windows for each. Then when I bought the tickets I was very promptly told to pay in cash as cards don’t work here. I was so shocked that I had to check if I’m in Pune only or somehow mysteriously teleported to a remote village. Luckily, I had the adequate cash that day to purchase the tickets.

Secondly, the halls are in pathetic condition. Seats are badly torn, highly uncomfortable and sometimes smelly like hell. I don’t want to pay 250 bucks to watch movie in such bad seats.

Thirdly, the sound system looks like a cheap set of speakers purchased from some second-hand vendor. You won’t feel when there are dialogues but as soon as any song will play you’ll feel like sitting in a political rally with blazing loudspeakers where you can’t make out a single word. That was the condition of their sound system.

Fourthly, the food is crap. I don’t have anything to add to it. It is just crap.

Movie-going has become a good outing for middle class people since the advent and popularization of multi-screen cineplexes. People usually spend 500 Rs per person and doesn’t mind that because it is worth that. But such single screen converted multi screen theatres can ruin one’s evening. So think twice before visiting this one.
