I frequently travel from pune->hubli by VRL travels. For past 1 to 1.5 yrs they r charging 450Rs for lower birth and 400 on upper birth for sleeper coaches. But now, during diwali time for dates just before and after diwali, they are charging 750Rs and 800Rs resp. These VRL people keep on saying that we dont change rates just like any other operator, but now doing the same. They boast about their consistent rates. but where is the consistency now.
Also dont book the tickets thru internet website. They will charge you 50Rs more than what displayed on the screen. Also the site is very unreliable. I tried booking 2 times, once was successful and another time, my money was taken away from my account and the website went off diaplaying no page found. I had to call and email a no. of guys out there to get the ticket at last. Regarding service, its OK. Nothing special.
One irritating thing is that you may be forced to listen those holy songs early moring from 4.00am itself in the bus. No VDO between 12.00 to 6.00am is good. Timings- they dont mentioned the arrival timings. departure- 10-15min late. Network - good in karnataka and major maharastra cities.
