Village Rockstars is an Indian Assamese film. This film is written, edited and directed by Rima Das. She is co-producer of this film too. The film Village Rockstars has won the National Award of Best feature film and the film is on the way of Oscar. It has selected for India' s official entry to 91th Oscar awards. I wish for its victory.Let' s talk about the film, There is a girl named Dhanu. The character played by Banita Das. She lives in a beautiful village of Assam. The village name is Chaygaon. She lives with her widowed mother( Basanti Das) . She is about 10 to 12 years old. She likes to climb the tree, plays with the boys and helps her mother. She learn to manage her and life and she has a dream. her dream is that one day she will has a real guitar. One day she is selling snacks at local event, ther she sees a bandthat is performing there. And then she decides to form a band. So she starts savings for the guitar. But the floods destroy the crops, then what will dhanu do? This is the plot of film. The film has hope and dreams and emotions.Rima Das is everything of this film Director, Editor, Co-producer and writter. A single woman did a very good job. She deserves national awards. This will be a good start for Assamese cinema and bollywood should learn something from this film. The background music of the film is not so amazing which makes the movie boring at many scenes.
