I am resident of Ahmadabad and vishala is one of the best resturant in ahmedabad every coin has two sides , best part about vishala is its decor you can feel the authentic village feel of india and compare the modern world with the typical gujrati village . The welcoming part is also very pleasing saying "RAM RAM SAHEB/MEMSAAB" very in todays modern society it is HHIII OR HELLO , apart form this the lighting is dim reflecting the village , the dressing sence of the waiters (stewards) is traditional that is green kurta and white dhoti and red tuban simple but pleasing. The flooring of vishala is completely muded and the roof tops are covered with hay or red mud made tiles. Place to dine is also very authentic with table that is a long piece of wood polished to make it presentable and Dari to sit over for kids we hade stools to sit to reach top the height of table.
Entertainment is excellent with good puppet shows, dance and magic shows. People dancing doing traditional "GARBA" or "RAJASTHANI FOLK " . the swings over there are again very pleasing made of wood and ropes which we usually call as "KHATLAS" in gujrati swing for all kids and even the elders no age bar to swing on.
THey welcome you with a welcome drink and make you comfortable at the entertainment ground where shows are conducted. There is a museum with a great collection of traditonal utensils , locks, vessels and dowry boxes used earlier which preserves our history and makes our new generation aware about it.
Kitchen is the main part clean and hygenic MAHARAJS cooking food with a table d hote menu that is fixed thali menu no alterations can be made . variety of food starting with chaas(buttermilk) , salads, pickes, butter , farsan(snacks) to main course serving different variety of breads. and ending up with KHICHDI AND KADI.
Finally with fresh seasonal fruits and ice cream .Only drawback is money part its too expensive costing rs. 260/- per person. I love dining at vishala a great experience a place which gives you calm peaceful surrounding and mouthwatering dishes and satisfied tooth.
