Vision Cinemas. It’s been more than a year that this sweet little multiplex, hidden behind trees, located quite conveniently near Lal Bagh, opposite the Double Road Big Bazaar, came into existence. But for some strange reasons, it hasn’t really taken off. Even after a year, there is a considerably large population in Bangalore who don’t even know of a multiplex called Vision Cinemas in their city.
The city is awed by big names like PVR and INOX. No doubt these names provide world class ambience, state of the art projection and sound system and a glitzy, swanky and vibrant environment to watch movies. And understandably, these things come at a price. Away from all glitz and glamour, stands a 2 screen multiplex, Vision Cinema. It has a very effective surround sound (not sure if it employs Dolby sound, but great sound nevertheless), a very clear and bright projection and display system and quite comfortable seats as well. The food counter could do with some more variety. Though the food court outside is very good.
Despite it being a full blown multiplex and PVRs and INOXs overflowing and overcharging, you’ll be amazed to see the scarcity of the crowd there. One reason may be it’s not near any market place. PVR and INOX being in shopping malls, provide patrons an option of shopping (window or otherwise), which is not the case for Vision Cinemas. All you can do there is watch a movie.
All this multiplex lacks is an air conditioned waiting lounge, a notch cleaner wash rooms, a more professional and well dressed staff and a little aggressive publicity. Maybe they should make the ticket rates more competitive.
But for those ad-hoc weekend movie plans, when all other multiplexes are already booked and you don’t want to go to so called “down market” halls, Vision Cinemas is the way to go. A decent crowd, a more than decent movie experience, adequate parking space and a 100% surety of ticket availability (at least till now, maybe sometime in future you’ll see a House Full board here as well J ), this makes for a perfect weekend movie outing. Go for it.
