EXTREMELY BORING!!!

This movie comes with the Rajshri stamp and so there is bound to be certain expectations. Unfortunately however, it is a complete let down with zero entertainment value.

Sooraj has put forward his definition of a "perfect beti- perfect bahu" material. She is one who does not have a mind of her own, has no career aspirations and says "yes" to whatever her family tells her to do. She is very domesticated and tries her level best to appease everyone.

Makes me wonder if this is how most Indian girls are raised today? If so, then it is truly a sorry state of affairs as it might have worked during our grand-parent’s generation, but today it is not feasible and girls have to be out there dealing with day to day problems just as much as their male counterparts.

The movie seems to glorify the concept of arranged marriage. How a city bred boy, who was educated abroad says "yes" to a marriage after the very first meeting is beyond my understanding especially when the girl does not even say much during the meeting. Are looks the only thing that is important?

The entire "falling in love’" after the engagement and through 75% of the film has been shot like a home video. There is no pace, no drama, not even comedy. At least in his past films, he had better production values and some funny liners here and there. This movie lacks all of that.

The last half an hour of the film tries to bring in some drama, and finally the "not so good aunt" realizes her mistake and becomes goody goody like the rest of the picture perfect family.

The ending is sweet, and goes in line with the story.

Shaheed Kapoor has tried to do justice to his role and has done fairly well. Amrita Rao is her usual self. The music of the film is simply awful. Not a single good number.

I am guessing that the movie will do well in the hindi belt where women are still treated as second class citizens. Overall an extremely boring and avoidable film.
