Friends I Knew Viv right from my Childhood but, came to know much about him after seeing the recorded matches which are telecasted on the ESPN Programme like Boycott’s best, Sunny boycott master class etc. When I see his batting he look just excellent, although he was not a stylish one but, he played most of his strokes to Perfection.
The most unique thing that I found in him was his superb tecquine of loftting the ball over the ropes which is not easy but, he use to make it look easy. And thus owing to this talent he was a succesful cricketer for the Indies. He Played many big roles in his sides victory such, as his knock against England in the 1979’s final in which Viv Scored 129 runs and West Indies had won the match.
He was just terror for the opponent’s he along with his teammates like Clive, Desmond, Gordon, Michael etc had put their team to the Top most Position in their era.
Even after his retirement he is willing to bring the spirit’s new generation up for the Game of Cricket by giving Coaching personally
Atlast I would like to say that truely he was a great cricketer and surely he will be remembered as the ’’King of Sixes’’.
